Rice Growers Safety Checklist

This is not designed to cover all of the hazards and risks associated with your farm, but to assist you to begin to identify and control those hazards and risks that may pose a significant risk of an injury or death to yourself, your family, friends or employees. The law says every workplace must be a safe workplace. Under the Occupational Health & Safety Act, all employers are required to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees or any person at that employer’s place of work i.e. subcontractors, family, friends and visitors. In order to achieve this, the employer must, in consultation with employees, develop and implement safe systems of work, training, supervision, instruction, information and the risk management process.
