The Notice of Constructive Change for Additional Work is a notice that can be submitted to a client by a contractor, or to a contractor by a subcontractor, that indicates that new work orders, or directions in a final deliverable for a construction project, have sufficiently changed the scope of the project.

Typically, when a construction project is commenced, a contract spells out specific details for issuing a change order - that is an amendment to the original construction plans. This can take the form of scope creep, unforeseen circumstances in construction, or a change in needs/wants for a builder or customer. A contractor whose work level of effort has changed can use this form to notify the stakeholder that there has been a change, and that it will impact the cost of the entire project. Typically, this serves as reasonable notice when provided to a contracting officer or other contractor. In some cases, extra work may be viewed as a breach of contract, however, most contracts have provision for providing notice of this extra work, and it ultimately can change the price of a fixed-price contract, and allows for excusable delay.
