Copyright Assignment (Australia)

This copyright assignment form allows a creator or owner of intellectual property or copyrighted work to transfer their rights of that work to another party. The form contains the name and address of the assignor or author of the copyrighted work, and the name and address of the assignee, or the party receiving the ownership transfer of copyright ownership. The form makes several covenants, notably, that the author has the rights to assign its rights to the assignee, that the author indemnifies the assignee against claims, demands, losses, damages and costs, incurred as a result of a breach by the Author of the Author's obligations and warranties, and that the Author retains all Patent and trade mark rights and rights to any process or procedure described in the transfered worked. This form serves to provide from the Assignee to the Author a perpetual, royalty free license to use the transfered work. This form is governed by Australian law regarding intellectual property rights and ownership of copyright should be filed with the copyright office to ensure copyright protection of any works contemplated in this agreement.
