Excavators can use the Hazard Checklist and Permit – Excavation (Australia) mobile app to ensure that they comply with excavation Australian safety rules and regulations 1. All contractors provided with excavation permits should be instructed to hand dig unless all services within 1 metre in all directions have been located and physically exposed by hand digging or potholing. 2. Where there is a possibility that a service is located within 2 metres of the excavation, the exact position of the service should be identified prior to the use of mechanical equipment and if found within 1 metre of the excavation, clause 1 should apply. The app overs items that have been dealt with prior to the issue of the permit and other items that may require controlling (Separate Risk Assessment may be required for these issues)

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
