Crime Scene: Fingerprint Process

During a forensic crime scene investigation, investigators and law enforcement personnel must carefully and diligently collect evidence that may have fingerprints on it, or take impressions/evidence of fingerprints from stationery objects. This app is useful as fingerprints can be found on practically any solid surface, including the human body. Analysts classify fingerprints into three categories according to the type of surface on which they are found and whether they are visible or not. It is easy to lose track of where fingerprints were taken, or the process by which they were taken. Additionally, knowing the number of attempted lifts on a fingerprint can help to ensure that crime scene fingerprints and fingerprint evidence are not damaged or tainted by examiners. Fingerprint identification involves lifting a print of a fingerprint (this can be from latent fingerprints, visible fingerprints, or partial prints), and performing fingerprint analysis, typically through networked analytical forensic science software to identify the individual who has the same fingerprints.
