Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

The sections and sub-sections f this plan systematically ensure that the Federal Planning Requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (DMA2K) Section 322 are met. This mitigation plan template will help to ensure that the local plan authors have written and completed all Federal requirements. The app has sections that cover: (1) The purpose and need of the plan, authority & statement of problem; (2) Local methodology, a brief description of plan update process, and any participants in update process; (3) a description of how each section of the original plan was reviewed and analyzed and whether it was revised; (4) the organization of the plan; (5) A Local Hazard, Risk, and Vulnerability (HRV) summary, and local mitigation goals and objectives; (6) Multi-Jurisdictional special considerations (HRV, goals, special needs); (7) the adoption, implementation, monitoring and evaluation (a general description of the processes); and (8) relevant Community Data (demographics, census, commerce, history, etc.). Hazard mitigation planning is important, and the planning process that identifies mitigation actions and a mitigation strategy is important to have in place - through this app, furthering a plan and strategy an be easily accomplished.
