Employees who are entitled to and intend to take Shared Parental Leave with their partner can apply through the Shared Parental Leave Notice of Entitlement and Intention (UK) app.

It must be submitted at least eight weeks before Shared Parental Leave commences. The purpose of the app is: to confirm that the parents and (the employee and partner) are eligible to take Shared Parental Leave, to confirm the total amount of Shared Parental Leave available to the employee and their partner, and to give a (non-binding) indication of the period dates on which the employee intends to take Shared Parental Leave from work. The period can last weeks and parents can propose a flexible work schedule when submitting the app.
