Oregon DEQ Underground Storage Tank Program Soil Matrix Checklist & Scoresheet
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality Underground Storage Tank Program Soil Matrix Checklist and Soil Matrix Scoresheet is an app that provides a useful checklist tool allowing the user to help determine the cause and report soil and water problems that could be potentially hazardous.

The Soil Matrix Scoresheet evaluation document allows the user to determine appropriate response and recovery. The app prompts the user to ensure that any release of petroleum is reported to DEQ, that tests of hydrocarbon levels were performed, that a sketch of the site has been made that identifies buildings and features, streets, properties, the location of all excavations, storage tanks and lines, and locations for water samples and soil samples.
The matrix score is calculated through checking depth to groundwater, the mean annual precipitation, the native soil type, the sensitivity of the uppermost aquifer, and potential receptors. The matrix score helps to determine the cleanup level for diesel and gasoline from sample areas around the site.

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
