Federal code requires that on the date of sale all used manufactured homes, mobile homes, and multifamily manufactured homes be equipped with an operable smoke detector installed in each room designed for sleeping.

Also, on the date of sale all used manufactured homes, used mobile homes, and used multifamily manufactured homes will have all fuel-gas burning water heater appliances seismically braced, anchored or strapped pursuant to existing codes. Carbon monoxide devices must be installed near each sleeping area in all new, existing, and used manufactured homes, mobile homes and multifamily manufactured homes. A declaration may be signed within 45 days prior to the date of sale stating that these requirements have been met.
