Disability Access Toolkit for Museums, Libraries and Archives (UK)
The Museum, Libraries, and Archives Council has produced a series of self-assessment tools (see list below) to help museums, libraries and archives to develop an understanding of their current practice and to encourage positive developments in relation to a variety of key issues: formal & informal learning, access, cultural diversity and disability access.

The Disability Access Toolkit for Museums, Libraries and Archives (UK) app features a self-assessment checklist is intended to help you to improve access for disabled people. The statements have been designed, as far as possible, to apply to all museums, archives and libraries. Once all relevant sections have been completed, users can add the total for each section. Users can compare totals with the possible total for each section to identify where improvements could be made in museums and public libraries. This is helpful in creating an action plan to ensure people with disabilities has access to arts facilities.

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
