Animals that are imported from non-commercial sources may not have had the same level of health care as rodents from commercial vendors, and could transport infectious diseases into research facilities. Animals with infectious diseases, fur mites or pinwork infections risk transmitting these infectious diseases to other animals, and potentially even human researchers. When animals are imported from a non-commercial source, they will need to be isolated for quarantine period, and undergo a veterinary inspection to ensure the health of the animal, the other animals in the study and the integrity of the research. If animals do not show signs of infectious diseases after they have been quarantined and they meet all requirements, they will be released from quarantine and able to be used in research. Animals that fail the inspection process during the quarantine period may need to be vaccinated, undergo further treatment or a longer quarantine period, or other measures.

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
