The U List is a list of hazardous materials as defined by the Environmental Protection Agency (the EPA) which are considered to be hazardous wastes.

For waste to be on the U list, it must be unused (meaning, full containers) and it must be a commercial chemical product. Because items on the U List are considered commercial chemical products, they must not be disposed of or recycled through normal means to ensure they do not end up in regular commercial waste streams. The U List Waste Disposal and Recycling Log is an app that helps users and manufacturers of chemicals on the U List, as well as waste management companies, ensure compliance with waste regulations, such as those established by the RCRA Hazardous Waste guidelines, or by a state and local agency's waste code, by promoting the proper disposal of these hazardous chemical products. Some of the chemicals on the U List include methylene chloride, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, chlorobenzene, o-dichlorobenzene, cresols, cresylic acid, nitrobenzene, toluene, methyl ethyl ketone, carbon disulfide, isobutanol, pyridine, spent chlorofluorocarbon solvents, 2-ethoxyethanol, and many more.

Don't take our word for it...
“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
