Given the high temperatures, use of high voltage electricity, and other parts of the arc welding process, the use of this equipment can be particularly dangerous. The Electric Arc Welding Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) app is a useful app that allows welders or welding supervisors to identify the many steps in the welding process, and to evaluate the specific hazards that are presented to the user when using an electric arc welder. For example, welding in a tight space may cause muscle and joint problems for welders, as a result of this, control measures can be identified such as welding what can be done outside of the closed space, and minimizing time in confined spaces. Similarly, hazards from welding such as sparks from the electrode contacting the base metal can cause problems to vision, thus requiring eye protection or a face shield to protect a welder from both sparks, as well as the UV radiation emitted from the welding equipment. Using this app and focusing on occupational safety through the use of personal protective equipment and awareness of the hazards associated with welding can help to ensure the health and safety of workers.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
