The process of socket fusion involves joining pipe and simultaneously melting the pipe with a heating tool along with the socket fitting. The pipe and fitting are removed simultaneously, and the pipe is inserted into the socket fitting and held under pressure. As the melted materials cool, they mix and fuse into a permanent joint. This Socket Fusion Joining Procedures app is a useful tool for running through the procedures and processes for successfully performing socket fusion. The app notes the set-up parameters for the pipe and fittings, and the procedure for performing the this type of heat fusion including cleaning and cutting the pipe, using a chamfer tool to remove sharp edges, using a depth gauge, verifying the temperature of the fusing device, maintaining proper heating time for the fusion process, joining the pipe ends after removing the heating element, holding the pipe for cooling, and inspecting the pipe when the fusion process has been completed.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
