Pressure vessels undergoing periodic inspection must meet certain criteria in order to be approved for safety and optimal function, at which point they may receive the UM designator. Details such as the vessel type, location of installation, and physical metrics (length, diameter, and wall thickness) of the pressure vessel may also be recorded in their respective data fields in the app in order to ascertain compliance with safety standards. Additionally, the app provides fields in which the results of impact and hydrostatic pressure tests, and the most recent dates the tests were conducted, may be noted.
