Subgrade Checklist
The subgrade or formation level is used to build an embankment when required to complete construction activities.

Stormwater retention and filtration systems may require the use of a specific subgrade depending on the site. The Subgrade Checklist app should be used prior to approval of subgrade work to ensure that a project meets standard specifications for soil compaction, how permeable materials are, pavement surface stability, and more. With the app, the user will respond to a series of questions including whether the plan includes specifications for removal of rock or shale sediment that would be a barrier to a proposed layout, identifying any stabilization needed, and outlining provisions to install and test appropriate drainage system if drainage or groundwater is an issue. For quality assurance of a subgrade, a contractor or other construction worker should use this app to review specifications required for high-quality subgrade work in a construction project.

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
