Carefully documenting an order for organic plant and herb seeds will help to manage the crop distribution and allow organic growers to carefully document what they are planting and ordering. The Organic Farms: Seed Order app should be used by organic growers and organic farmers to record what seeds they need to order, including details such as quantity, varieties, and the organic certification or status. The growers can note on the form the company ordered from and the item number and if the seeds have organic certification. In order to be certified organic, the seeds and seedlings should not be genetically modified and should be part of a national organic program.
Certified organic farms are those which use organic methods and organic products, such as avoiding the use of synthetic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, utilizing crop rotation, adhering to more natural farming practices, utilizing beneficial insects for pest control, and ensuring seeds for fruits and vegetables come from organic sources. Organically grown produce and organic food may have less harmful contaminants and could be healthier than produce or food generated through conventional farming methods.
