Farm Food Safety Plan: Traceability Program and Mock Recall Documentation

These standards outline how to keep produce safe before suppliers send it to the market or grocery store. In the event these standards fail or are not followed, and a recall must be issued, it is important that the recall process is handled effectively. When produce or other food items are recalled, it is an important part of the food safety plan to have a suitable policy that will help a recall team be able to track the produce or other product in question. Proper record keeping will ensure that suppliers can track and trace product lot that is part of a recall. This will help retailers remove the items from their shelves and keep the consumer safe.
