The tool offers great precision, with the ability to provide depth measurement to an accuracy of +/- 0.01mm. In order to provide high accuracy, the tool should be calibrated regularly. With the Depth Dial Indicator Calibration Procedure app, a user is guided through a six-step process to effectively calibrate the instrument. The app user will begin by checking the ambient temperature and should change locations if the temperature does not follow into the appropriate range. This step is followed by a visual inspection of test characteristics including the screw thread, stylus, and dial, looking for smooth movement and any surface damage. Finally, the user will work through a series of test characteristics for the instrument with specific methods and appropriate limits. The depth dial indicator has a calibration interval of one year and, with proper servicing, will retain accurate measurements.

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
