Local and industry regulations will be carefully monitored to ensure there is little risk for contaminants such as bacteria or microbial pathogens to enter the food chain. The app for Farm Food Safety Plan: Sewage and Manure should be used by farms to document the type of waste (sewage, manure, or biosolids) that can be found near food facilities, and what treatment systems are used to mitigate the environmental impacts as well as the animal and human health risks.
