To better understand the health issues impacting refugee groups, health professionals and social workers can conduct household surveys in communities. The Rapid Health Assessment for Refugees: Questionnaire app is an assessment of nutritional and vaccination status, as well as an evaluation of retrospective mortality. Using the app, the interviewer will ask questions about the family composition and children in the household, general food distribution, non-food items and shelter, nutrition for children, and measles vaccination coverage. The interviewer will also gauge the total number of deaths in the household within a certain period of time. The data collected from household surveys will inform infectious disease immunization programs and help health professionals to more effectively serve displaced persons.

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
