Contamination can occur from bacteria and other substances found in the product. Quality inspections are done by the brewery or regulatory body and can occasionally find contamination of ale, lager, or other product. This may initiate a voluntary recall to protect consumers from becoming ill or from consuming an unsafe product. The Brewers Association of Canada - Pre-requisite Program - Recall app should be used by a brewery to prepare for the possibility of a batch of the recalled product. Preparing for a recall can involve how to address news coverage, confirming the insurance policy, sending a press release, and removing bottles of the batch of product from store shelves. Contamination can cause consumers to fall ill, and lead to legal action from impacted customers.

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
