Drone Flight Sheet and Safety Checklist
The Drone Flight Sheet and Safety Checklist is a useful app for preparing to fly a drone, and also to use during and after drone flight.
5,000 Companies save time and money with GoCanvas
The pre-flight checklist includes items such as checking weather conditions (wind speed, direction, etc.), whether hazards are present or not, and identifying a take-off and landing area. The drone pilot should perform drone checks such as ensuring propellers are secured and functioning, checking the drone battery is charged, ensuring the transmitter is working, checking the camera, gimbal, and various sensors are working. Immediately prior to the drone flight, the operator should set the drone down, check their surroundings, and if all is safe, proceed to fly. The app spells out the roles for the various drone team members including the data collector/photographer, the spotter, and the pilot. The flight data sheet allows the user to record information such as the session number, the date, the instructor name, the location, the site, the GPS location, drone transmitter information, weather conditions, the batter number, flight goals, and more.

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
